Hi! I’m Mikhail Green, a Jamaican freelance graphic designer, web designer, and front-end developer. I specialize in visual identity systems, branding, logo design, and responsive website design for personal brands and small businesses based in the Caribbean.
My design philosophy is to provide quality, timeless designs for my clients that truly represents their brand.
Throughout my professional career, I have prided myself on being a very productive freelance designer and developer, a feat that I have managed to maintain over the last five years.
My venture into the field of Advertising and Public Relations has allowed me to network with several companies and industry veterans which have equipped me with the knowledge and experience to create high quality and timeless designs for my clients.
I am continually striving to learn something new and web development is one of the many skills that I picked up. Front-end development has taught me how to be goal-oriented and how to produce timely projects within my client’s budget.
I am also the editor-in-chief and creative director at the Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies where I currently work with the students’ representatives to produce high-quality social media content for the body to inform students of events around campus, the services they provide and enrolment advice for new students.
Although I have experience in these areas, there is still more to learn about graphic design and web design. I am always seeking more opportunities to broaden my knowledge and experience in the field, whether it is a new design technique or mastering the ones I already know. I look forward to where life will take me and the positivity and energy I can provide to my colleges and clients.
How did I even come up with the name?
I’ve always been a fan of lions. They’re the symbol of courage, wisdom, ferocity (that’s where my slogan originated from), and the sun, which is ironic since lions mainly hunt at night (ha!). I was initially going by “Mikhail Green Design” but my name is easily misspelt so I tried “The Beard Design Co”, but it didn’t sound right. A friend told me they liked my mane (beard). It was then that it hit me. “Mane Design Co” could be the new name for my business. It was still a reference to my beard (and dreads) but now it sounded really official. I tweaked it over time until it became the Mane Design Ja you see today.
